1. Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradesh

Having the varied species like deer, Bengal tiger, python, nilgai, etc. this park is located in the Satpura range.

Best in: October to June

2. Sundarbans, West Bengal

Known for its famous tiger population this is a mangrove forest and you can find diverse dolphins and flying foxes here.

Best in: December to February

3. Gir, Gujarat

This is the only national park where you can find Asiatic lions.

Best in: Mid-October to mid-June

4. Kanha, Madhya Pradesh

The best place to provide sustenance for swamp deers and hyenas.

Best in: October to June

5. Tadoba-Andhari, Maharashtra

Known for its tiger sightseeing opportunities, this is a Reserve which also provides home for wild snakes and crocodiles.

6. Kaziranga, Assam

Situated in the jungles of Ranthambore Fort, it houses black bucks, jackals and tigers.

9. Nanda Devi, Uttarakhand

Named after its mountain name, here you can find all the rare species of animals like musk deers and red fox.

Best in: April to October

10. Keoladeo Ghana, Rajasthan

This is the best place for you if you are a bird person. This was previously known as Bharatpur bird Sanctuary.

Best in: October to February

11. Periyar, Kerala

Periyar National park is suited for people who like sightseeing and trekking. This offers a view from high altitude, making it different from other national parks.

Best in: October to June

12. Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand

One of the most renowned parks known for the first one to take an initiative towards the Tiger Project.

Best time: November to June
