Amritsar is home to the spectacular Golden Temple, Sikhism's holiest temple and one of India’s most calm and humbling sight. Amritsar means "holy pool of nectar" is the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh Religion. Vaisakhi festival brings out Amritsar's splendid face with its finest food, clothes and festivity. This place is also famous for its Jallianwala Bagh massacre and its proximity to Wagah Border. Amritsari cuisine is also very famous. The delicious food and generous glob of legendary Punjabi hospitality further connive to cast a spell upon the visitor. From the Operation Blue Star in the Golden Temple to the tragedy of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Amritsar has seen the worst of situations and yet emerged like a phoenix through testing times. Amritsar today is a thriving city with active trade and tourism industries. One of the most agriculturally productive cities of India, Amritsar is well connected with most of the important cities of India.

Wagah Border Wagah Border is a road border between India and Pakistan. It is a famous tourist spot nowadays because of the famous beating retreat ceremony that is held every day before sunset. Almost 5,000 people visit the border to be a part of this ceremony. The flag ceremony is conducted by the Indian Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers. Wagah Border in Amritsar is the only road border between India and Pakistan. The border lies on the Grand Trunk Road between the cities of Amritsar, India and Lahore, Pakistan. Golden Temple The Golden Temple Amritsar India is not only a central religious place of the Sikhs, but also a symbol of human brotherhood and equality. Everybody, irrespective of cast, creed or race can seek spiritual solace and religious fulfillment without any hindrance. Jallianwala Bagh Jallianwala Bagh was a place of great historical importance during the Indian struggle for Independence. It is a public garden in Amritsar which houses a memorial of national importance that was established by the government of India in 1951.
